My read has been that BA just isn't interested in Chayka's long-shot experiment.just never got his cup of coffee (spot of tea?)
... agree 100%. The hockey fans in Guildford all knew Brendan Perlini's story, were proud that he'd played a bit of his youth hockey there before moving back to Canada. The hockey fans all over the UK knew Kirk and were following his progress. It's the same challenge for young players in Alaska or Yukon, there's just not that much elite hockey in those crucial years from 12-18 ... I hope he still has some growth left in him and that the combo of injuries + getting buried on the Roadies roster for a GM who doesn't want him doesn't mean he's missed the opportunity already. All jokes aside, I hope he gets another shot at the NHL some day. Would be a great story.
