Condolences to his family and friends. He was an iconic part of so much of my hockey viewing for so long. Sad now that he's gone.

Sucks to hear

I always liked him, even though I’m not Canadian and therefore had little exposure to him when I was growing up.

His voice always gave me a real throwback feeling to something out of the 50s or an era of long ago, far before my time.

Absolute legend. The voice of many of our childhoods. He is the soundtrack to a lot of core memories.

Back in my card collecting days, one of the coolest moments I had opening packs was buying a single pack from Bill Ranford Sr, and pulling a Bob Cole autograph.
