FLA & CGY don't have their 1sts. NJ's 1st will not be available.

If the absurd ask of a 1st + + is true, don't see how this could even escalate into a bidding war between these teams.

Why don't the Hawks hold on to him ?

He is 23 and likely still has room to grow.

They should try offloading some of their aging talent before moving Hagel.
It’s been reported by a local beat reporter the hawks aren’t shopping Hagel.
Obviously doesn’t mean teams can’t come a calling or the hawks switching gears.

New Jersey sticks out like a sore thumb on this list. I know Fitzgerald wants to liquidate some of his draft/prospect capital into contributing NHL players, but there's no way he should pay the cost.

NJ is not cap-strapped nor are they desperate for youth, so they're just paying for his production. Hagel is only a year and a half younger than Zacha and only has 4 more points this season, and Zacha is getting run out of town.

I get that Hagel is feisty and skates hard but you would have to be insane to pay a 1st and top prospect for him. He is a middle-six guy. Unless he's attached to a cap dump there's no way this makes sense for NJ at the proposed price.

Panthers go for a defenseman if a 1st is involved, has to be 20223 or 2024 as well unless Chicago is taking 2-3 of Florida's better prospects not named Lundell or Knight

Based on the rumored asking price you have to think the Leafs are the front runner here since Calgary and Florida don't have their 1st and NJ isn't likely to trade their 1st

Makes sense thanks.

Doubt we are in the mix though.

The flames are real deep on LW and should consider upgrading both RW and specifically Center before looking at a LWer.

Maybe trying to up the price for other clubs but who knows.

Obviously anything could happen. Hagel has been mostly right wing this year. Who knows. Cheers
