So can anyone recommend any good Leafs or Hockey books in general?

Not that I ever saw him play but I remember Andi Petrillo banging on about Sean Avery's book being entertaining.

Sorry if there's already a similar thread but I couldn't find it.

Any help is much obliged

For non-Leaf stuff, Ken Dryden's "The Game" is one of the classics.

If my memory serves me, Dougie Gilmour, Wendel Clark and Darcy Tucker have all released books recently. Lance Hornby put out a Leaf-centric book full of anecdotes and what not.

In October 2002 I purchased "A Day in the Life of the Maple Leafs" which has a lot of pictures of what the players do prior to a game, how the Air Canada Centre staff gets ready for a Leafs game and pictures of a game from December 2001 against the Rangers.

It's still on sale when you look for it on a website like Amazon.

The classic hockey book of any sort is The Hockey Sweater, by Roch Carrier. An absolute classic with a Leafs sweater playing a key role in the story. This is a must buy if you have children in the family but adults will enjoy it just as much, especially if you know anything about hockey history.

It was made into a National Film Board animated short.

Roch Carrier, the authour, narrates the story in a beautiful Québécois accent.

But one note: in the 1940’s when the story takes place, the Leafs were better than the Habs!
