It's not just a switch you can turn off and on, the team needs to start trying to win IMO. I wouldn't want to start Bedard's career with a tanking team, play hard every game for every point.

I don't think the Hawks will be tanking like last season but I their lineup isn't very good so I see a bottom-5 team. 2023/24 is the 2nd year of a multi-year rebuild. Years 3 and 4 will be the years when the lineup is good enough to "learn how to win". It's slow and methodical but there's a purpose behind it.
