I was going to mockingly suggest this guy earlier as an obvious Leaf pick because Dubas BPA is best Soo player available.

But then I saw he was 5-9 Dman, about to turn 20 years old and already passed over in 2 previous drafts and thought that would be silly even to facetiously suggest that.

I don't see an issue with drafting guys you know the most about. If it was ALL players from there then it is a red flag but in the later rounds when everything is a gamble, why not?

Most scouts feel hes too small to play in the NHL but can be a very good AHL defenseman. Hopefully he has a growth spurt.

Dubas Picks Overagers: Waste of Picks. So unimpressive

I've been fine with all the picks so far and have been trusting the judgement of Toronto management, but this pick made me just say "Waht the h*** was that?" An overage 5'9" defenceman? Are you serious? Does he really have any chance of becoming an NHL player? If not, why did we pick him?
