As a Latvian Canadian, been fun cheering on this team….easily could have been a different result here (and vs Switzerland) if the pucks were going in on some of their great chances and puck possession.

They fought hard but as we all know the Finns are notorious for edging teams in close games with defence and goaltending…I think Latvia just got goalied here.

Important 3 point win for Finland.
Penalty killing was today really good but powerplay was crap.

I don't give a damn of that how many of those Finland's penalties were weak calls
but every freaking players must be smart and responsible with stick and think twice
where they will put it and how. because vs USA and quarterfinal we don't have any afford
to take any idiotic or boneheaded penalties at all.

Latvia doesn't have much skill to score on powerplay
but USA does so staying out of penalty box needs to be main priority saturday's USA game
if we wanna win it into 60 minutes and get that group win too.

Lampinen was very good today and he secured his starting goale role for Finland rest of the tournament.
If i'm honest Finland's team is owe a meal and drinks for Lampinen
for a thank you tonight's shutout and win.
