If the Sens' have some young guys emerge as top 6 talents (Norris, Batherson, Stuetzle, etc...) and its clear that we have a solid top 6 core going forward, would you sign a major UFA if they wanted to come to Ottawa? Especially if they are from the area?

Most of my family and friends are Leafers and they're complaining about the compete effort of their star forwards and talk about the poor salary negotiations in regards to how most of their money tied up front has prevented the team from addressing other needs. One of them even said the Tavares signing was bad, not just in hindsight, but because they had two legit top 6 centres at the time (one of whom was a 1st overall pick). The JT signing was just because it was the first time a player in their prime wanted to "come home".

If the Sens have an opportunity to bring in someone from the area that cites the desire to play for them, regardless of age, would you be upset if they were brought in (via trade or sign?)

Can't think of anyone considered a super star but players like Giroux come to mind. Given our history with players from ottawa (Ceci, and now Gudbranson) I wouldn't jump over it or be super into drafting a touted player from Ottawa (Brandt Clarke this year).

Any thoughts?
