Was there a good one available?
That Zamboni driver. 1.000 Save percentage. They would never have scored from behind the net on him.

Good? I'm not sure. Better? Most likely. Was there a good one available?
Freddie was pretty damn good this year when he came back. He wasn’t perfect in the playoffs but the Canes had chances to win tonight, and they couldn’t do it. Chatfield let Kreider stick sit on the ice on the winning goal. This isn’t all on Freddie.Good? I'm not sure. Better? Most likely.
Good enough for the 4th line. Maybe 3rd if we have injuries. And he will be a 2nd Lehkonen…okay, a mini version…
No doubt. But Carolina would never admit it.They tried to troll Montreal, and instead trolled themselves
I was surprised they didn't come back with Kooch for game 4. I know he lost game 3 but I thought he played well and none of the goals he let in were as glaring as some that Andersen let in in games 1 and 2.Freddie was pretty damn good this year when he came back. At the time of the this current contract I would’ve preferred they switch the goalies, when free agency hit and the contracts were handed out we kept Freddie and I remember very clearly despite not being the biggest fan of his being glad we signed him back. Goalies got overpaid and none of them were better than him. Quick, Korpisalo, Talbot….who no one expected to bounce back.
With what is available the Canes made the right call bringing back Freddie. The question is should’ve Rod gone with Koochie? Rod is loyal, sometimes to a fault. Koochie makes his fair share of mistakes though.
Rod is loyal and old school. You have to earn it with him, and I think he felt Freddie got them this far so he couldn’t play someone else. He thinks Koochie’s time will come. Freddie usually responds well after making mistakes in the regular season.I was surprised they didn't come back with Kooch for game 4. Some Habs fans still defend Trevor TimminsImagine drafting this guy 3rd overall.
Without trying to sound too critical: I agree. For a number of years I've felt that the Canes probably have the best depth, or close to, in the nhl but they lack those top end pieces to really put them over the top. Aho is awesome but he needed support. Guentzel and to a lesser extent Kuznetsov were boosts, but even Guentzel feels more like a complimentary piece and not a needle mover on his own. So yeah. A legit #2 center would do wonders for solidifying roster positions and adding some more offensive punch.Rod is loyal and old school. I never felt this years team was the right mix. No clear 2C allows Rod to play Staal too much. Aside from the top line there was no clear cut hierarchy to the lineup, in a bad way. I think having so many ufa’s had an effect. I think this version peaked a few years ago and has been going sideways for a bit. This off season will be a reshuffle. They may step back for a year or two.
Montreal fans were right
If Kuzy commits and goes to Rod camp all summer he can be that guy. I just don’t see that being what goes down, not to the level he would have to get to. Rangers may have won the game but Montreal and Toronto wins the day with these bashing threads.
He wouldnt. He would play 3-4th line C on some team and have a salary at 1,5-2M/yr. As he should. If he was drafted 23rd overall instead of 3rd he'd be back in Finland.
1st and a 3rd for what? They tried to troll Montreal, and instead trolled themselves
