For whatever reason I can't stand these "nana nana boo boo, I'm better than you, stick your head in doo doo" type posts.

How about this: Accept that we're getting inside info that we wouldn't otherwise get, and be thankful. Not everybody is in a position to share exactly who they are. OP isn't trying to lord it over us, he/she is trying to be helpful and provide information.

That's how I see it also.

I have inside connections with the Checkers, and can sometimes leak information on them. Where I sit in the arena also gives me the unique ability to talk to scouts also.

Well said.

Then the Canes boards consist entirely of a certain poster taking GDTs way too seriously... :sarcasm:

And other certain poster(s) being too lazy/busy to make a thoughtful, effort-filled GDT. :sarcasm:

Besides, we'd still have the Harrison sux argument, and the baby mobile commercial complaints, and the complaints about not enough offensive production from the top line, and...

Remind me why I'm still here?

It's definitely Khudobin's ankle...I'm sitting beside him as he's doing treatment at Raleigh Ortho clinic. Funny guy. The accent makes him seem funnier too.

So I guess the question is who is Chip's source? You know, the guy whose job it is to actually have reliable sources. Is it the same guy that told Forslund Nodl's name was pronounced like noodle?

I see it like this - hockey has become notoriously vague when describing injuries nowadays. John Forslund made mention of this on Twitter the other day. The "upper body" and "lower body" descriptions aren't exactly specific. I would venture to say that it's just a protection of the player; if I were a jackass on another team and wanted to target something, the more info the team gives out, the more susceptible the injured player is when he returns. JMO.

Even Khudobin, when asked after the game, said it was a problem with his "leg". Now granted there's a language barrier involved, but personally I wouldn't describe hurting my ankle as a problem with my "leg". There's definitely some reluctance to go around telling the public all the dirty details of medical issues.

I don't disagree. What chip said specifically was that he was told it wasn't his knee or ankle. I get that they aren't going to tell you what it is but if it's his ankle, don't say it isn't.

Probably even more so with goalies, though probably on the scoring side rather than the intent to injure side.

It's also competitive- for example, if other teams know which of your defenseman's feet is broken, they'll know that his pivots on that foot won't be as strong or fast, and will go to that side all night, making him a less effective player then he would be if the other team didn't know about the injury.

We've also been told that a player doesn't have a concussion, when they did.

Yeah that too. I don't mind the vauge upper/lower nonsense because I've come to accept it. Straight up lying about what's going on is unnecessary. That's just me.

About the posts where if a team finds out which area of the body is injured to exploit, 9 times out of 10 it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what the issue is. The opponents have game tape and can see Anton skate off putting no pressure on one of his legs. Guess which one it is? Gee I wonder what's wrong with Lindholm as he skated off the ice clutching his shoulder? Maybe they just want to be sure the video coaches/scouts are earning their money, I don't know.

Yep and yep. It's quite silly.
