As the SimGod winds down the 2021 season, here is some more information about the 2021 offseason and key dates:
2021 Seattle Kraken Expansion Draft
The Seattle Expansion Draft will occur on Saturday, July 10.
Protected Lists will be due by Wednesday, July 7. Stay tuned for more details on rules, eligibility, and submission.
2021 HFNHL Entry Draft
The 2021 HFNHL Entry Draft (Rounds 1-3) will take place at 9:00 AM EST on Saturday, July 17. It will be hosted on Slack as usual. Rounds 4-7 will be completed via list. Submission deadline for those will be Thursday, July 22 at 3:00pm EST. More details will be communicated via an entry draft thread closer to the date.
2021 HFNHL Free Agency
The first day of HFNHL Free Agency will match the NHL's of Wednesday, July 28.
That means that the re-signing deadline for all pending free agents will be Wednesday, July 21, a week out to ensure SIMGod can get the site updated for the start of FA. Do not leave signings until the last minute. Be proactive, especially with the entry draft and FA periods nearly overlapping this year.
This also includes all prospect activations/signings needed to be completed for next season (based on the mandatory thresholds). These need to be completed before July 21st too, to make sure that team rosters are accurate before the free agency period.
