I just read that hes an unreal face off guy as well. I wouldnt worry about him taking Tatars spot but Emmerton might be in trouble. If Babcock can get his hands on a 6'6 center that is good defensively, physical and a really good draw guy Emmerton might be gone

I would bring him in and atleast see what he can do. If you can hit on a solid guy who is 6'6" would be huge. It would be much needed size.

Get rid of Abs and bring in this guy for less $. Im sure he is better offensively than Abdelkader and bigger.

You might want to look at Gator's college numbers before you make stupid statements like that.

He has lost all confidence offensively, but saying this kid has more talent at the same time in their respective careers is so off base I don't know where to start.

Stupid statements? Abs has 1 goal this season and he's been playing with Datsyuk and that was an empty netter. It would be hard or him to come here and not be better offensively at this point?

Please start because I'm dying to hear it.

I know hating Abdelkader is all the rage these days and he deserves some blame for his terrible offense but...

Both from eliteprospects

So you can say it in jest that he will be better than Abdelkader, but there is nothing here in his track record that would suggest he has near the offensive abilities of Abdelkader. Even with his crushing confidence problems Abdelkader has more offense in his pinkie finger than this guy. But that isn't why we would sign him anyway, just saying the statement is false.

I mean, what is location, really

I think it's not necessarily that Abdelkader is awful offensively, but that he doesn't have the skating to be much of a threat. Every time I see him, he's trailing the play, and a lot of the time it's gone by the time he's even got there. If he somehow got a bit faster, he would be a lot more effective.

He strikes me as a guy who would be a better player in the dead puck era.

Yes, it was mentioned in newfy's post at the start of the thread.

My mistake somehow I missed that, don't remember glowing things about him from Malik in the write ups. But he does say he is fast found the old write up so that is good to a lot of the questions being asked.

Kellan Lain #57*: Big. Fast. Defensively reliable. Very big. Very fast for his size. But more or less generic thus far, other than being able to keep up quite well.

Looking at the team stats he took the majority of faceoffs and won at a 56% clip. That's very solid but I'm honestly not sure how well that will translate to the pro game.

now that i have developed some little bit of curiosity about him, it would be interesting if he played in today's game, but that is probably unlikely.
