With Michael Russo basically breaking Michael Russo extension this summer, how many of you think he knows about Kaprizov’s extension numbers, or at least how much wild will offer?

He basically is saying he’s expecting numbers to be in ballpark of 15 to 17 mil per year, but he’s expecting Kaprizov to break NHL history in terms of how much teams can offer

I don't think Kaprizov signs here for any less than 16

If the cap goes up by 2.5% each year, it’ll be ~$87.7M in the summer he’s eligible to extend. $15M per year would be ~17.1% of the cap. Matthews just signed for 15.9% albeit only 4 years.

And it's an even numbered draft year?

An even number of even numbered picks in an even numbered draft year is an odd number of evens, so it balances out

Not if they are all in even rounds. Then it's 4 evens, so an even number of evens.

He just simply isn't worth anything close the Austin Matthews. Winger vs C... etc..etc.

You're really going to try to sign Kirill for 7-8 years and north of 12 million? Would be an error right up there with signing Foligno to 4 million per.

Pastrnak has set the winger market (as of now). Depending on what the cap does, I'd probably put Kaprizov in the $11.5M to $12.5M range.

But I think it'll take at least $100 million to get it done.

Maybe if he could get us out of the first round I would be more ok with paying the money. I don't doubt it will take more than 11 mil a year but I hope the ceiling is 12 mil. If he was a center i would be willing to go more.

I feel like Kaprizov's skill set should age well, so the decline in his early 30s shouldn't be that steep.
