One little mistake: the silver tournament was in 2021. The 2020 edition was skipped due to COVID.

Besides that Jukka won in 2011 (only Mikael Granlund from current roster in his team then) and 2016 U20 (only Juho Lammikko from current roster in his team then). As there were mainly different players I will not add them.

Winning a hockey championship is not about how many NHL players you have in total. And it's not about what happened in the past.

You could have 500 players in the NHL and if they all want to come and participate in the next tournament,
this does not help you to win a tournament since there are only 22 skater +3 goalie spots.

You have to build a TEAM - but that is not enough - and a TEAM is not a roster of players that perhaps will not gel with eachother - e g SWE had a 'dream roster' 2002 best-on-best Olympics - but lost vs a BLR team.

So - the TEAM needs to be put together in a way that they all give their maximum effort - otherwise you'll lose like that stacked SWE lost to the FIN noname-team 2019.

So whats his secret in building a succesful roster then?
Take team full of grinders ;)

I think he just picks the team full of players who are playing for the team and everyone has their position and their role. Some players were picked because of their defensive skills.. some were picked because of their PK ability. Also he is not overrating NHL players if we have similar player in Europe. NHL*er needs to actually bring something for the team, so they need to be a big upgrade over someone.

Why dont you bring up that stacked czechia lost to germany in 1996 world cup, 7-1 to germany? or that nhl stacked russia and canada lost to finland in 2019 aswell?

this is a thread about J Jalonen type of great wins - not about chokes :)
You could still post a pic of that that hat that you would of had to consume in case SWE would of made it to the semifinals - we all just would love to see that hat
