Something big must be going down

Edit: So, Larose is off IR. Maybe playing? Hoping Jokinen gets claimed? Would ease our cap pressure next year substantially, as then you've got $9m to sign 6 guys, not $6m for 5.

A team like the Canucks who played Keith Ballard on their third line last week?

Someone replied to Chip on Twitter wondering if Jussi would be a good pick up for TOR as a shoot-out specialist. I kid you not.

But they have to think in terms of what acquiring Jussi would mean next season as well. They're already hard up against the cap this year and they'd be in major trouble adding a bottom-6 guy at his price.

I just find it hard to believe JR offered him to 29 teams and they all said no. Maybe I'm wrong.

Wallace sucks. He's AHL'er.

Wow. We couldn't take Kleska for Jokinen? Let's talk about for real value.

True, but that's what kind of happened when JR acquired him. He passed through waivers and then we traded Melichar and something else to acquire him. Granted, situation is different now but not the stat line.

Tampa: 46GP, 16pts, -8 before traded to Carolina
Carolina: 30GP, 10pts, -7 currently

what the ****? honestly, outright surprised that nobody would trade for Jokinen. Really surprised we couldn't do a contract swap there.

My guess would be every remotely interested GM wanted JR to take back a crap salary in the deal. He was in a weak position after signing Semin to a huge deal.

That something else was Wade Brookbank and a 4th. FWIW the 4th ended up being forfeited.

New crazy conspiracy theory: JR waived Jokinen, which pisses off Ruuutu into waiving his NTC getting himself traded. Pitkanen has a mental breakdown without his Finnish security blanket and demands a trade. Now JR has about $12 million in extra cap space.
