McAfee was like the Apple software updates of its time. Just killed perfectly good PCs and you wouldn't think it was the AV software.

McAfee was like the Apple software updates of its time. Just killed perfectly good PCs and you wouldn't think it was the AV software.

That and Norton were the worst. I often uninstalled them from family and friend's computers and installed or enabled Microsoft Security Essentials/Defender in their place. No matter how many times that I did that with my dad's computer, though, whenever he'd tell me that his computer was running slowly, I'd find that they'd been re-installed.

It still does. My wife's work made us install McAfee on our home PC in order for her to remote into the office and ever since the PC runs like absolute ass
