Combination of "Muschampball" and shark humping sank him. Dude was supposed to be an offensive guru and well he's handed the offense to Nussmeier whos not exactly known to be innovative. Also the shark thing, you know they say it wasn't him and I will take that at face value, but that thing went through the world for weeks with people thinking it's him and you know it changes the way you look at a dude. The fact people were (are) willing to believe it's him..it kinda makes you realize something about how he comes across. Can't imagine how much fun rival coaches had with that on the recruiting trail.

You don't hire an offensive genius and then sputter on offense and not pay the price

He was brought aboard to revolutionize that offense. He failed to do so. His QB's were often inept.

At least Florida has a low tolerance for failure, so I'll give them that. Meanwhile Butch Jones continues to coach at Tennessee.

(Side note, saw a hilarious Fire T Butch Vols shirt at the Redskins game today)

His qbs were trash but he wasn’t any help to them. But if he had a qb he beats bama In 15?

Its not just QB's. They were one of the worst offenses of the last 4 years.

Bad qbs are a big reason. Look at Michigan they have decent running backs but are pretty awful when they had okorn and speight under center. Put the good Lamar Jackson as qb for Florida and they probably win the SEC that year and lose to Clemson

Edit: actually baker mayfield would be better

Chip Kelly to Florida.

Does Kelly want to go down there and have to compete with FSU, Miami, Georgia, Alabama etc. in recruiting and then have to beat Saban in the SEC Championship game just to make it to the play-offs?

Plus there would be a ton of pressure at Florida to win the NC. He wouldn't be able to claim they are just little Oregon competing against all the bigger teams.

Although his offense would satisfy the fans and I imagine he could have some dynamic players with the athletes he could get out of Florida.

I think he goes to a school which is big enough to pay him a ton but has some built in excuse/s that he can use when they don't have the success they expected.

Yeah he would. Contrary to popular belief, Chip can recruit. He hates playing grab ass with boosters. Football coaches are wired differently than fans.

Lamar nearly committed to Florida. Muschamp got sacked and McElwain took over and stopped recruiting Lamar. He's a terrible closer.
