I got taken to school for suggesting the other day that Spurg would be my expendible in the expansion draft.
Like the player, and in normal circumstances would be happy to have him fulflll his contract here. Despite the denial, he does take a beating from guys much bigger than him, even if he makes the play.
Hope it is a chipped tooth or something minor, cuz we do need to make that decision later, not now.

Not a big fan of Prosser's overall talent, but if we're not going to play him at all, we might as well trade him. Reilly, for whatever reason, hasn't looked solid at all so far this year, except for the odd offensive chance. Maybe he needs some time down in the AHL.
Dumba's play tonight was encouraging.

Lol who's gonna want Prosser? Only reason he's on the team is because Yeo had a crush on him. Dumba looked like he was on a mission tonight, very exciting!
Prossers value is for emergancy situations. We don't want him playing regularly. We don't want a younger guy like Reilly sitting in the pressbox either. Prosser can sit in the pressbox until injuries force the team's hand and call on him.
What was great about Dumba tonight is that he seemed to be serious about his play in his own end. Love his first two strides when he has the puck...Brodin could learn from him in that regard. If you just stand still the other team doesn't have to respond to you and can cover the passing lanes. As soon as you move, everything changes, and becomes more dynamic(so 2105).
Someone would give us something for Prosser. A RHD with a miniscule contract? Sure thing.

You're right, but I would hope that some guys down in the AHL can develop(and soon!) to the point where they can be brought up in lieu of Prosser.
So if Spurgeon misses a game or two what are the pairings?

Scandella missed the game tonight on a late scratch... so depending on why he may or may not miss more.
The middle pairing tonight was Brodin-Dumba
Dumba was supposed to be the scratch until Scandella couldn't play for some reason.
Well if they are both out:

Brodin/Folin
Reilly/Prosser - that sounds like a bad combo.
My guess is we'd see a lot of
Suter-Brodin
Suter-Dumba
Brodin-Dumba
And a little of
Suter-Folin

to try to balance things.

Russo tweeted earlier today that everyone was expected to be on the road trip. Russo was already in New York at the time though.

Oddly quiet? Isn't non disclosure of specifics about injuries the norm? Martin is a POS. I'm stilled pissed about what he did to Ballard. This " finishing your check" is an excuse to injure on a late hit. That, and boarding, have no place in the game.
