I'm shocked we got that much, I was expecting an AHL contract... but it only takes one GM to really want a player to make the rest of the market meaningless.

Allen is a great 1B, and if the Montreal plan is to have him start 35-40 games and Price going into the playoffs fresh? They're in a decent position. Hope he does well there.

Assuming that the news about us having a $720k cap overage is accurate, then we now have ~$7m in cap space with three roster spots open. Assuming that Husso is the back-up goalie, it's ~$6.25m with two spots open.

We all need to thank Allen, his play this year and in the playoffs allowed this to happen, He really did us a solid. I always rooted for him even though it was hard at times. This gets us one step closer to keeping Petro .

A decent amount, yeah. Generally it was with Pietrangelo.

I thought that’s where he looked the best. Otherwise when he was on the right side he played a lot with Dunn, and stylistically they just weren’t good together.

Also needed space in general too. We at least have flexibility to round out the roster on the free agent or trade market.

Sort of wonder if this was negotiated with the Scandella deal. That would explain the timing of the Scandella extension.

JR has been pretty bad with his insider knowledge since moving to The Athletic. So I'd take this with a grain of salt.
