There is also a BIG difference between one of the teams leaders and its best player this season saying something post game and a guy in Lehners position throwing his stick after a goal and then smashing it and screaming **** as he leaves the ice.
One is a controlled response from a guy who has every right to say it, another in a complete lack of control from a guy who is only in the league because he threatened to leave to Europe if the team put him in the A.
He has certainly been better lately, but the organization has had issues with his on ice temper in the past. Fans brushing it off seems odd to me.
We all react in different ways. Doesn't mean he is any less committed.
I can't remember how many times we all used to hear that Alfie was a bad leader because he was a quiet reserved guy instead of an in your face Messier type.
And as for that point about him threatening to hold out, he had absolutely no leverage. He was a kid and the Sens could have easily let him go to Europe for a few years. They made the choice to bring him here.
