just thinking about how good this 10-1-4 run has been I wanted to see how that stacked up in other seasons.
22-23 we had 2 good 15 stretch runs of 14-0-1 and 13-1-1 (both runs won the 16th game as well)
21-22 we had a 13-2-0 stretch and a 12-2-1 stretch. (The 13 win run also won game 16 as well)
20-21 we had 2 11 win stretches, one with 3 losses and 1 OT loss and the other with 2 of each.
19-20 our best 15 game stretch was 9-5-1
18-19 we went 11-3-1 in one stretch from February to march.
22-23 we had 2 good 15 stretch runs of 14-0-1 and 13-1-1 (both runs won the 16th game as well)
21-22 we had a 13-2-0 stretch and a 12-2-1 stretch. (The 13 win run also won game 16 as well)
20-21 we had 2 11 win stretches, one with 3 losses and 1 OT loss and the other with 2 of each.

Lost in my rage about pissing away the lead was the shift Slavin had before the goal. He blocked Malkins shot and stood him up from getting to the rebound then everyone else let someone walk in alone and he cleanly poked checked him into the neutral zone.

The Pens arent the dominant team of yore, but it's damned impressive they're a 0.500 team with Crosby at 36, Malkin 37, Letang 36. They're poised to fall off a cliff any minute now, especially with Guentzel a UFA and no prospects of note. Their supporting cast is well below average but the team is still being carried by Guentzel, Jarry, and a few old dudes.
And oh hey that was before Vegas lost last night so now we’re ahead lol

Raanta played a hell of a game. He shouldn’t have to put up .950 every night but it’s awesome to see that it’s still in there

It's honestly far less impressive when you see the kind of beneficial officiating they get though...they're one of the most stick-happy, clutch & grab teams in the league at this point, but rarely penalized for it. See Svech getting called for Crosby's double-interference. They're doing better than expected probably with that aging core, but imagine how dominant Svech alone (or any other fairly skilled player) would be if he didn't get called for every little infraction.
