“We out-chanced the that team 10 to one in the third period,†Jack Capuano said at Nassau Coliseum Monday morning. “And we out-chanced that team pretty good. We gave up seven chances in the whole game of 60-minutes of hockey against a pretty good team, and 23 shots. They got two power play goals and an empty net goal, so, overall, we’re real pleased with the way that we played.
“For us it’s about our structure and how we play, and we did a lot of really good things last night.â€
The quick turnaround certainly helps the team have a short memory when they suffer a loss like they did on Sunday.
“We play again tomorrow, so you have to get ready to play,†John Tavares said. “We just try to learn from it. I think certain areas we have to be a lot better in. Certainly some good things and just weren’t able to put the puck in the net yesterday.â
