If we need to make cap space at the deadline to improve the team the likely candidate will be Gilbert. So it would be a good idea i think to see what our defense looks like without him.

I want to hate on Gilbert for being in the lineup but he's the best #6 we've had in years. Prefer to see Pateryn but can really oppose to having Gilbert on the team.

Gilbert is an enigma for me, one shift he looks like a solid nhler and the next shift he looks like he should be playing in beer league.

Yup unfortunately Therrien is a union man. It is veterans before performance.

Pateryn has played some excellent hockey and brings some physical fear to the opposing forwards crossing our blue-line. Making the opposition have that thought in their mind only helps the team.

Our blue-line is soft and Pateryn, along with Emelin, can create a bit of hesitation for oppositions teams.

Looking at it... what happened to Emelin? I haven't been watching as much lately.

If I could guess, I think there was a collision with Malkin in the Pittsburgh game that took a bite out of emelin.

Either way, that was the last game that emelin played. Presumably, something happened in that one.

I think it is becoming evident that Desharnais' line is in fact line 2. Based on usage and output.
