Easy to come up with a theory when you have zero targets in mind.
Wheeler was supposedly on the market.
Dickey/Hutch/Pillar or Travis for Wheeler?

No to the bolded. You'd have to be insane to trade Pillar.
This is Shapiro we're talking about...
Doesn't really solve the Mets needs, plus Wheeler isn't returning until midseason so the Jays would need to find another 3 starters.
Pillar is young and cost-effective right now and for years to come, and as long as he's here, you have CF filled. Shapiro isn't going to be such an idiot that he'd just trade him unless he was getting substantial value (I'm not sure Wheeler fits that type).

single game tickets for 2016 go on sale through all ticket channels on february 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., while renewals for existing season ticket and flex pack holders starts on november 19. New flex pack sales will begin on november 23, and group sales and luxury suite sales will commence on november 25. Complete information on promotions, events and 2016 ticket pricing can be found at bluejays.com.
For only the second time in six seasons, the club has increased prices. Regular game ticket prices will increase $3 to $6 (excluding in-the-action seats) while premium game tickets will increase $4 to $10 each, representing an average increase of just over 10%. Tickets remain available for less than $20 in the 500 level, while jr. Jays saturdays continues to be a family friendly option with 50% off for kids in select areas. Additionally, like other teams in the city and in major league baseball, the blue jays will test dynamically priced single game tickets for selected match-ups during the season. The ballpark pass will no longer be available.
"the blue jays continue to be the most reasonably priced ticket compared to other professional sports in toronto," said stephen brooks, senior vice president, business operations. "and combined with our promotional schedule, it delivers an unparalleled experience for fans."

Wheeler was a top 10 prospect in MLB 2 years ago, and his MLB record has been solid. He'd fill a huge need in the organization as a young #2 to slot behind Stroman for the next 4 years.
As much as we love Pillar's dives...he's a perfect guy to sell high on. Pompey has a higher ceiling than Pillar and looks to be ready for the MLB, and Alford is a year behind him.
Replacing Travis might be a bit tougher because Goins is a clear step down, but for a young #2 type pitcher, it might be worth it too.
That's the player you pick out of the four? Yikes.

Well, the Mets are losing Cespedes and Murphy, wouldn't they need a 2B/CF?
And mid-season works out. Pitch Osuna till midseason, then replace him with Wheeler when Osuna is nearing his innings limit, and he goes back to the pen.

Heh, could be interesting, especially given that we have replacements for Pillar available.
You're down on Pillar?
A 27-year-old low-cost CF with years of control, gold glove finalist at premium defensive position, coming off breakthrough season where he posted a very respectable .278 average, 12 homers, 25:4 sb ratio, pretty good minor league numbers, one of our better postseason performers, and no character concerns.
What's not to like? I understand it's not as if he's untouchable or even a core piece. But "yikes" seems out of place.
