inline bearings micro vs regular

What is the difference between micro bearings and regular size. Which do you prefer and why. I have always used the normal size, but I see most of the expensive skates have the micro bearings on them now.

Are micro that much better? Is it the weight, the speed?

As far as i know they're smaller and about 4x lighter than your average bearings. I couldn't care personally. Fastest roller skater i know uses a pair of brand name "Roller Blades". And not their new trying to make it work again kind, the oldschool ones that have no laces, just little buckles.

I don't think they're much more expensive though so I don't see a downside.
