That contract had less than 0% chance of working out. It boggles my mind why teams continue to sign guys to extensions right after they have what are very obviously career years.

EDIT - Looking at his stats, I guess he did have a decent 2012 as well (right before his very good 2013 season)

I think it was actually 11 million. I'm a little bit surprised by this. I assumed that the Indians were going to bite the bullet on Johnson for at least this season. He performed acceptable in a platoon role down the stretch last season with Chisenhall. I wonder if the Indians will take a stab at Alvarez after all.
