Nope, have to try again on that one.
Kings played undisciplined after the whistle and were goaded into taking a lot of penalties, mostly in game 3. Role reversal from last year's games 1 & 2 where the Kings suckered the Oilers (Kane, Desharnais, Draisaitl) into bad penalties in scrums.

Lol classic Oilers. Team PP.

This Calgary fan conspiracy theory that the refs/league are out to help the Oilers is literally flat earth level dumb.

Oilers penalty diff in the playoffs:

19/20- 14 out of 24
20/21- 8 out of 16
21/22- 16 out of 16
22/23- 9 out of 16
23/24- 3 out of 16

OMG 3rd! League is rigged!

Wait, the refalanche only got 55% of the power plays allotted in their series, and the 55-45 balance was the second most equal of any matchup?? FFS, our el-cheapo owners have got to start cutting bigger cheques again.
Refalanche!

That information isn't useful if you don't exclude automatic calls like high sticks, puck over the glass, too many men etc.

They arent wrong, your excerpt would show how much perimeter play the Kings had if you bothered to include HDCF%, which is where the kings got destroyed. Oilers positive xgf in all games but one at 5v5.

Shouldnt be a surprise to anyone that a perimeter shooting mentality which racks up high CF%, doesn't draw as many penalties

I would be salty and envious of Edmonton every day too if I lived in Calgary

Lol, you think a 52-49 advantage is "destroying them"

Actually, yeah that checks out. YOU would think that.

Edmonton flops all over the ice? No way.

Proof that neither nails nor punches to the head are ever good for the brain!

When 4/5 games are 50% or better and two of them are over 60%, which is higher than the stat you misidentified as being important for play driving, yes thats destroyed.

LA clowned EDM 14-4 HD in game 4, which is the one they choked, without nearly 80% in one game, the spread is not close to 52-49. Theres a reason that EDM was the better Xgf% team at 5v5 4/5 games, which incidentally is enough games to win a series. Even more so when you account for the second best seasonal PK being reduced to rubble.

I've never seen someone use aggregate stats of a 5 game sample, and then try to insult someone for saying a team got destroyed outside of an outlier game which is skewing the small samples aggregate. Especially when said team won the series 4-1. In 7 game series, trends are more important than stat dumping and sorting biggest to smallest.

Edit to add stats - Game by game:

Don’t forget to post the same thing after round two (wtf posting it this early with 2 goddamn game 7’s remaining in the first place??) so we can analyze this serious statistic again with numbers, math, and percentages showing exactly why one team got more penalties. I hate thinking too, let’s just react to numbers!
Lol what point is this post even trying to make exactly?
