If Michkov somehow falls to us, do YOU take him?

You never know... him saying he won't come over until 2026 might turn a lot of owners off. Do you think Columbus or Arizona's ownership would be willing to wait three years to see any ROI on their top pick?

Stranger things have happened.
You never know but I wouldn't hype myself up at the possibility of it. There's at least a handful of teams that are in the early stages of multi-year rebuilding processes. They can wait for a Michkov while they continue collecting high picks.

No. Detroit needs game-breaking talent NOW, not in a few years.

No more of this "well maybe we'll be ready to think about maybe competing in a few more years" garbage. Let's go already. Anything less than the playoffs next season is a serious failure.
So literally just Connor Bedard. You're setting yourself up for disappointment, so unrealistic.

There is absolutely nothing unrealistic about expecting a team to finally be in the playoffs after what will be an 8 year absence. Nothing. Again, this isn’t the Buffalo Sabres or Columbus Blue Jackets where a single playoff appearance per decade is acceptable and tolerated.

This is now year 5 of Yzerman as GM, and this was the season they were to take a MAJOR leap forward. Fans are getting impatient and restless, and have every right to feel that way.

Obviously, injuries have taken a massive toll this year. Had Bertuzzi and Vrana along with Fabbri not missed the majority of the season, it’s not unreasonable to assume that Detroit would at least be tied with the Pens in the standings or even a few points better.

Next season at this point barring more ridiculous injuries/personal issues to top players, it’s unacceptable for anything less than a firm grip on a Wild Card or higher postseason spot.

This thread is about the draft not the team. Nobody in the draft other than Bedard will have an impact on any team next year.

Get a grip.

It's weird that this keeps getting repeated online lately. Someone else here recently complained it was already year 6 for Yzerman. Are you all bots?

Yzerman was hired on April 19, 2019. He's been GM less than 4 years. The Wings are halfway through his 4th season as GM.
When you're wrong, just keep repeating the narrative. A year from now he'll be right.

No it's not. The only way this team should have playoff aspirations is if their is enough depth to get better results. This team is not talented enough at the moment to try for the playoffs.

Kirill Kaprizov signed a 2 year, $2,775,000 contract with the Minnesota Wild on Jul. 13, 2020. The contract has a cap hit of $925,000.
Team who signs Michkov will have small window to have mature player and don't pay him realistic money . Teams like Buffalo,Ducks or Ottawa will be already stock with bunch of stars in their prime on the top they will have another one and the don't have to pay much

Or maybe we do have him?

Horvat crashing the crease, Raymond feeding him, and Michkov sniping 60 goals.

Yzerman's been the GM for like 18 years, what are you talking about? :sarcasm:
