The Mighty Duck Man

Ducks fan here, haven't been able to see much of either, so for those watching, how have these two Ducks prospects looked thus far?

I totally disagree with this. I thought he was quite bad. He appears to have little quickness, appears to be not a very good skater, & for as mammoth as he is, plays like a fairy.GagneOwnsYou said:.
I don't think you could say he sucked yesterday, he was one of the only U.S forwards playing physical and one of the only U.S forwards to look dangerous offensively.

Agreed on that.HabLover said:Bobby Ryan looked slow yesterday and wasn't much of a threat at all. He did look like he was pretty good with the puck when no one was around though. He's only 18 and could really have a good tourney next year.
Kinbote said:Ryan has been pretty useless in this tournament, I can't believe he's one of the leading scorers in the OHL. I sure am glad Brian Burke isn't GM of the Canucks anymore, his drafting has been brutal.
McDonald19 said:actually the Ducks scouts picked Ryan. Burke had just been hired and he went with the guy they wanted.
HabLover said:Yeah, but Burke interviewed Ryan and apparently that was the deciding factor!
Russian_fanatic said:Bobby Ryan was getting Bourdowned out there. He kept getting pushed around by Bourdon, and the defense put on a nice show against him.
RallyKiller said:the opinions on Ryan have varied so far it seems, the problem with team USA is they have no chemistry, as well as in house animosity from some players.
monster_bertuzzi said:Ryan looked like a slug again tonight VS the Czech's.
Dr Quincy said:Ryan was invisible against the Czechs and he got a decent amount of ice time. Putting him on a line with Wheeler and Paukovich was a bad idea IMO. I think he needs to be with a a good skating playmaker. Let Ryan camp himself in front of the net and let the playmaker handle the puck and get it to him. The "Big Line" didn't work. I like Oshie with Kessel and Bourque, so maybe put Ryan with Shremp and Fritsche.
Rabid Ranger said:While Ryan hasn't looked great, I can't say that Walt Kyle has maximized his talents either. IMO, the U.S. advanced despite not having great chemistry. It's not an issue of getting along, but working well with other players on the ice. That type of chemistry seems to be lacking by and large.
How is he supposed to show anything if he barely plays? How many skill players make big impacts with limited ice time? He probably has more points per minute than any player in the tournament!Rabid Ranger said:While Ryan hasn't looked great, I can't say that Walt Kyle has maximized his talents either.
