221GF would've been good for 18th in the NHL last season.

I don't see 125 points out of Duclair/Keller/Strome. At least one of them will be in the AHL most of the year, the other two won't be 50 point+ players not this year. That is expecting too much from 2 rookies and a guy that failed big time last year. I think Reider and Martinook will have better years then you have predicted.

Correct. I expect close to zero from those three and McGinn. They should all be Tucson bound.
Rt forgot about Fischer though. I expect more from not only Rieder and Martinook but also from Dvorak, Perlini and Richardson.

When I get to Vegas, I will gladly put money on the over point total for the Coyotes. We were not that far off from that total and that was missing our 2nd most (and arguably, most) productive C in Richardson and Domi for a combined 90 games.

I think we could have gotten 5 additional points with those guys in tow last year and on paper, we became a more productive team this offseason.

I see 100 points with Strome and Keller, they may have a negative +/- at the end of the year but they should have 100 points between them.

ESPN is about as informed on hockey as it is on Tuvan Throat singing or the Whirling Dervishes. ESPN probably calls it "ice hockey".

Just going to illustrate rt's point. The below video is just as foreign to ESPN as covering hockey highlights on a nightly basis.

I think all three were better rookies than Strome will be. I don't know about Keller, so we'll have to wait and see; however, I think Keller will be targeted much more closely than Domi/Duclair/Dvorak were, which will likely affect his output once he's up with the Coyotes.

I know I am in the minority here, but I would really like to see these guys go to Tuscon and dominate the AHL. Get a championship , grow a winning culture down there.

I also am a little concerned about Keller getting hurt , would like to see him spend some time building strength etc...

Having said that .. If both those guys can have great success in the NHL this year , I would be ecstatic.

I heard McAvoy talking about Keller on a podcast recently (Spittin' Chiclets). Charlie called Keller the most intense competitor, and hardest worker he knows. He compared him to Patrick Kane in terms of skill and elusiveness/trickiness. He spoke about him palpable awe. He said he's been working incredibly hard this summer. That interview made me feel as good about Keller as anything else. Some of the stories he told reminded me a bit of the "Captain Serious" stuff about Toews we always hear about.

Getting hurt is the only thing I worry about for Keller. He might need time for his body to mature a bit more. I think you guys under estimate the impact NHL coaching and training can have on these young guys along with the experience playing against NHL players. Strome, Fischer and Crouse already have NHL bodies. We have a coach that seems fired up to teach and develop. They will be the beneficiaries of that. I'm looking forward to watching them develop now that we actually have a plan to develop them.

We weren't even the worst offensive team in the league last season and we lost Domi for 2/3rds of it. And have they SEEN Vegas's roster? It's absolutely brutal. Their best offensive players are guys who it's highly suspect they can operate without high end centers too.

Also they seemed to have forgotten that Brad Richardson exists.

And yet the point projection on the top right has them with a respectable 84 points? Hell I'd even take the 76 on the low end.

Going back to 10/11 when League scoring really started to go back down, The only teams who managed to have "bad" offenses in this way and still put up point totals over 80 are:

15/16 Devils
11/12 Kings and Wild,
10/11 Devils

There's a pattern here^

Wild, Devils, Kings. Highly systemic teams with elite shot suppressing defenses even when they are just mediocre overall as all of those teams but the 11/12 Kings were.

That ain't the Coyotes. If this team puts up anywhere close to a point total in the 80's they can't have a bottom 5 offense. Well unless you think Raanta is going to win the Vezina. If I were writing an article/analysis and this is what I came up with, I'd go back and question every assumption I made.

DOH lol where is your optimism. Most are calling Keller for Calder with 60 points. That s say Strome only needs 40 points. Come April I am sure hope I am gloating on my predictions :)

I hope you are too! The NHL is a tough league for rookies, let alone expecting 2 on the same team to combine for 100 points.
