Odorizzi has a player option for a 3rd year.

Not a bad replacement for Valdez although obviously I would prefer a healthy Valdez. My hope is Valdez will be back but because they didn't do a in house replacement, is he out for the season? Astros wanted a 2nd opinion but haven't heard anything. Interested to see the dollars. The Astros were concerned with the luxury tax. Odorizzi was asking for more than what the Astros had before hitting the luxury tax line and now won't have much or any money for in trade acquisition unless they decide to go over. Can't wait to see if Strom can work his magic.

Also good to have him for next year as well since the Astros could lose Verlander, Grienke, and McCullers.

Report: Jake Odorizzi agrees to two-year deal with Astros

if ohtani can return to his pre-injury form and adell takes that next step in his development, i think the angels could make the playoffs. really just comes down to their pitching as usual. their offense (when healthy,) is one of the best in baseball

west is shaping up to be a 3 team race
