Our history of playing well after a long break is brutal. However the Oilers cannot afford even a slight slip coming back out of the gate for the December home stand against teams that pretty much own them.

Draisaitl said in yesterday’s media avail that yes the legs often feel heavy coming out of a break so hopefully the high tempo practices KK ran will keep the stiff legs away. Some of the structural drills they have been working on shouldn’t hurt but the Oilers also aren’t good at thinking on their skates so we will see if the heavy legs and having to use the brain at the same time helps or hurts. (their key players are offense first instinctual players is what I mean by not thinking first)

McDavid is on an absolute heater and I’m sure would love to repay the Canes for the beat down we received in NASCAR country 5 games ago.

I doubt KK pulls a Woody or Tippet and changes a winning lineup so expect to see the lines the same as last game.

Carolina’s Save % is the worst in the league which ranks as a huge surprise considering they are the kings of playing a structured game. Should make for an exciting game.

GDT streak 4 in a row - let’s make it five!

I read CAR actually has the worst combined save % in the NHL?
I mean I'm not doing all the math, but they are 1st in league in SA at 24.6/GP and mid of the pack in goals against at 3.21/GP so the math probably checks out lol.

:laugh::laugh: Raanta is way worse than Campbell this year. Pretty incredible to be 6-4 with those numbers

Oilers may need a “Remedial Hockey 101” course before the game to remind them what hockey is about after this layoff.
Looking for good trends to continue…better Dzone play, better PK, and better composure.
Looking for bad trends to end….cheap penalties, bad pinches, and over-passing.

60 minutes of hustle and focus = likely a win. But given the layoff, we likely won’t see that.
Oilers win in OT.

I just saw REO Speedwagon, 2 weeks ago down here. They put on a really decent show. Cronin can still sing, but he must weigh only 80 pounds soaking wet!

I’m also conflicted for this game. 5 game win streak would be pretty nice, NGL, but a loss means Gregor can’t shave his dome and has to continue to let his Hippocratic Ring grow out.

Ah f*** it, Oilers need the 2 points more than Gregor’s shame.

He was always a small guy! Gregor is getting out of his own bet? How’d that happen?

Gregor probably paid him off air to say that.
Lol, he may have.

I find him to be a bit of a weasel on air, strictly related to his takes on sports, but I will say the guy seems to be one of the most philanthropic, giving media persons in Edmonton. I think his intentions in that regard are always above board and Edmonton is fortunate to have a guy like him using his media pulpit to help make things even a small bit better.

His hair alone in the ‘70s weighed 50+lbs. :)

His Season of Giving is quite something plus the suits for grads and pizza pigouts etc. He seems like a good person.

Gregor’s hair or Cronins hair lol?

I have the Ring of Confidence myself but I call it the Ring of Not Giving A f*** What Others Think.
