after a year of inactivity due to numerous events in my life, im back in the game. I kept my team afloat by logging in every 4-5 days, but that was it. I lost a lot of good players and decimated my youth school and young players.

on the bright side, i do have around $2 billion dollars to spend on the market.

i just noticed the updated PP and PK line choices. last time i paid attention you just had power play and penalty kill.

is it better to make 2 penalty kill units and 2 power play units or is it ok to just go with one for each? i guess same question for 5 vs 4, 3 vs 5, etc.

i go with 1 PP unit for 5 on 4 and 5 on 3, two 4 on 4 units and two units for 4 on 5 and 3 on 5.

100/65/-. FML. I knew I shouldn't have boosted him. 76 AI though, holy ****.

What the hell do I do with this kid? :help: He's only showing 86/67, can't sell him this season. Do I just play the **** out of him? What's a realistic AI ceiling for 100/65, would he even reach 300? No, I can't play him. I think he's just gonna ride the bench for a year.

It turns out that my twice boosted player from last season has 100Q! Hell yes! .....

65P.

Ok so I'm pretty sure the 16 year old goalie in my YS last season was showing Q in the 70's, before now jumping up to ?92/?82. The P might have also shown in the 70's, I honestly can't remember. Second day AI is ?59, up from ?55. I'll probably switch him to forward in 17 days and hope for the best.

I won my first I.1 matchup against smetana in OT. I have a feeling we were both on low to rebuild TS from the playoffs last year. I still can't believe I even made it here.

Inserted a couple of 18 yos into my line up this year, team gets closer to becoming entirely home grown.

won first game of the season 7-3

Two of my YPs that were showing in the 90s ended up being in the 90s and - loyalty and less than impressive P. To the market they go.

Looking to buy another young forward and if I find one, pretty much resigned to relegating. I actually only have the fifth-lowest AI and based on that you'd think I could make it, but I'm playing a young goalie and 2/3 lines of young players.

I could stay up, but it would come at the expense of lots of money and important ice time for younger players, so it's probably for the best to drop down.

Triplets. I also pulled a 100Q, 65P. Weird.

In need of a quality goalie - at least 18P left, 150+ EXP and not -3. I can probably stick with Horky for one more season, but he's -12P now and by the playoffs his AI will be bleak.

Had my first player hit 300AI during the last playoffs, and from an AI perspective I am currently the bully in III.1 I probably need to reach for II this season or the chance will pass me by.

So in case others are interested, here are the stats I put together:

Age-AI-Age17-AI17-Age22-AI22

Canada 29.43 352.71 27.94 354.82 27.00 338.45
USA 30 339.51 28.06 336.06 27.41 320.86
Ukraine 29.66 333.29 27.88 332.12 27.18 317.18
Ireland 28.40 323.86 28.65 337.82 27.41 321.36
Estonia 29.20 320.43 26.71 322.71 25.95 307.64
Australia 29.14 314.97 28 314.18 27.18 300

Total roster is a little better than Ukraine for second best, while AI17 and AI22 is roughly tied for 2nd best.

Ireland, Estonia, and Australia are top heavy with the most sub-300 players at the bottom of their rosters. USA only has three (the goalies), Canada has 1, Ukraine only 3, Estonia 6, and Ireland + Australia have 8 each.

It is gonna be an interesting group and as we saw last time everything can happen, when Denmark promoted just ahead of Estonia! Canada was on paper a clearly better team back then as well, but the real question is, has the canadian manager learned from his mistakes last time around?

Canada really should win the group and Australia seems to be the weakest link, but after that it is impossible to predict where the rest will finish, as the differences arent that great. Estonia might look abit weak on paper, but they have nasty line chemistry and a fantastic manager, so they are always dangerous.

Personally I have a crucial game versus Italy tommorow, followed by a scary Latvia team and an almost as nasty challenge in Russia, so it is very much uphill! Especially since we have a very young spuad, not by choice, but simply because we have no suited veteran depth whatsoever this time around! On the plus side if we survive this time, things will look pretty good next campaign at least, so there is alot stake actually :help:.

It has been fun to take a national team in shambles and basically rebuild the pipeline all the way down to 21 year olds, so I can get the players and line chemistry in the future I desire! Obviously I have had tons of help from various managers and especially the U20 Coach, but I have unique overview of the relevant danish players! I had expected alot of resistance, when dealing with distribution issues etc, but I found that pretty much every single manager has followed my guidelines fairly well, so that has been a huge help!
I really dont feel that the team is "mine" untill the next WC, as the changes made will be in full effect at that point and the older players still have a bit "off" distribution in my world.

No complaints from me on my first week back in I.1, 3 wins and an overtime loss, and the top offense in the league.

Delusions of grandeur, perhaps? :naughty:

The worst part of all of that is that the first game of the term is against Canada! So I basically have to go straight at the best team (on paper). No few games to build TS, but right out of the gate.

Well at least the two games following that one are against Ireland and Australia. I expect Ireland to be a bit of a weak link.

stupid question...how do you send someone a challenge for a friendly game? i go the the team i want to challenge, and then go look at their schedule. it shows they have clear days, but i cant see anywhere to send them a challenge.

I'm a bit late for this, but I beat Tobias Funke's Never Nudes this week:) I didn't realize your goalie was so good. I think he's and 83 or 84 rating. I expected a dog fight.

Unfortunately I lost my first WL match:( It was only by one goal and against a really good team, but that might change the way I play the rest of the games. I'm not sure if I can afford to burn enough TS when I don't think I have the team to win the thing.

It's on the far right.

And welcome back:)

thanks! good to be back. now to get my team back in some order. i spent almost $1 billion on 4 players on the market the last few days to replace players i lost while inactive.

now if i can just get them to start scoring, id be doing alright. lots of shots, but not many goals.
