Went with Ellis. Pretty solid rookie campaign in the AHL last season. Looking forward to what he can do this year.

Gambardella for me. He produced at a good pace for three straight years in college (and improved every year) and by all accounts had a good stint in Bakersfield at the end of the season. I think there's a solid player there. Not as much upside as Samorukov or Safin but far more likely to be a full-time NHLer.

Im quite ok with our prospect pool if #10 is either a rookie goalie who posted a .918 in the AHL or a PPG+ NCAA player who had amazing underlying stats to boot

it was close between Samorukov and Safin but i voted Safin. we're now at a point where a whole group of similar talent could be listed from #10 to #15 depending how you voters vote. Samorukov could be a steal for us at the draft. how nice is it to have Mantha, Paigin, Samorukov, Lagesson, Bear and Jones all in our system and all having at least a shot with the Oilers in the near future? this is very different because the Oiler Old Boys Club was very forward centric at the draft for years.
