According to The Hockey News, teams like Minnesota and Chicago boast strong development systems, but without question the strongest collection of prospects belongs to the Colorado Avalanche, who have seven prospects rated among the league's top 75, led by #3 Jonathan Huberdeau.

One shouldn't read too much into this, since recent graduates and rookies with 25 games under their belts are not counted on this list, but this still has to be particularly concerning for teams like the Rangers and Sharks who have both embarked on a rebuilding process. With cupboards this bare, it looks like those rebuilds will take a long time. The Senators have yet to begin their rebuild, so hopefully they'll be able to pick up some young talent in the off-season to make up for their departing vets.
