Gentlemen:

The signing window for submitting contract offers and prospect activations on current players and prospects closes at 12 noon ET (GMT -4) this Sunday July 2.

For those who haven’t already done so, please send your offers through to the Agents ([email protected]) as separate emails:

  • Prospect activations for players who have played 10+ games combined in the AHL or NHL, as per these rules: Attention All GM's - RULE CHANGES for 2019/2020. Please include a link to the player’s CapFriendly, their age as of Sept 15, 2023, the term (1, 2 or 3 years based on their age), and the annual dollar amount.
  • Auto-signs (when matching an NHL contract in effect for one or more years, at the higher of the NHL or previous HFNHL contract). Include their previous HFNHL contract, a link to their CapFriendly, and the term and dollars of the auto-sign offer. (NOTE: you can only auto-sign a player for the remaining term of their current NHL contract, up to a max of 4 years. It doesn’t matter how many years the contract was originally in effect for when first signed, only how many years remain.)
  • Qualifying Offers for RFAs without an NHL contract in effect: 110% of the base salary if less than or equal to $660,000; 105% of the base salary if greater than $660,000 and less than $1,000,000 (QO cannot exceed $1,000,000); or 100% of the base salary if equal to or greater than $1,000,000. Include the previous HFNHL and NHL salaries (with CapFriendly link), and the dollars and term of the extension offer.
  • Contract offers for your pending UFAs and RFAs (for terms beyond the 1-year QO). Include the previous HFNHL and NHL salaries (with CapFriendly link), and the dollars and term of the extension offer.

Any pending UFA who does not receive an offer by the deadline (and subsequently accept it) will become an Unrestricted Free Agent, as will any pending RFA that does not receive a Qualifying Offer.

Pending RFAs that are qualified but who do not sign their offer will become Restricted Free Agents open to Offer Sheets, with the rights holder eligible to match or accept compensation in the event an offer sheet is received and accepted during Free Agency.

Prospects that require activation but who do not receive a contract will become Unrestricted Free Agents (the Commissioner may offer a grace period to sign if a prospect is overlooked), as will any prospects or players released or bought out (watch for the release/buyout note from the Commissioner shortly).

We will take a couple of days to finalize any discussions around those offers, then update the SIM so that the Free Agency window can begin.

Thank you for your cooperation!
