I've seen the Leafs prospect pool ranked as high as 11th overall in the league and yet they don't have a single player in the top 40.

Seems off.

Pre draft or after draft…. Link em

Personally I have robertson knies and niemla in the 45-75 range.

was the ranking from a Canadian or Toronto based organisation?
Oh I’m guessing bader thing… I think I remember him having them at 11 on something

#11 here, post draft. This is from the guy you mentioned, Bader. No idea who he is.

#15 here, pre draft.

I personally think they are lower, around 20th, and am surprised these lists have them so high. Especially considering not a single leaf prospect has been chosen in the top 40 of these polls.

And that he has Ottawa at 29th, is Ottawa really 18 spots behind Toronto.
What are his criteria.

someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Baders list doesn’t put much weight into quality, and quantity is worth just as much. Also don’t know how far his list goes back so if it includes marner/matthews/rielly etc makes sense why they are that high.

I think torontos pool has a lot of good pieces, but not much in terms of high end, which makes sense based on where they are in standings generally.

Couldn’t find Baders criteria, did fine this:

In the article he says this:
Bader says he pulls his top-five from in-market sources, like fans and bloggers, and in some cases, team executives.
This is Bader’s definition of a star: “My model is more based on production.

Lol @ fans and bloggers.

 Bader has always been the funniest of them all I think

29. Ottawa Senators The Sens' better prospects have essentially all graduated to full-time NHLers (Stutzle, Batherson, Norris, Brannstrom). Sanderson, Pinto and Greig are mostly all that's left.

All that's left? This is how we voted on the Sens board after the big 3 :

4- Mads Søgaard
5- Lassi Thomson
6- Jacob Bernard-Docker
7- Zack Ostapchuk
8- Tyler Boucher
9- Tyler Kleven
10- Roby Jarventie
11- Egor Sokolov
12- Viktor Lodin
13- Angus Crookshank
14- Tomas Hamara
15- Mark Kastelic
16- Parker Kelly
17- Leevi Merilainen
...

I mean, of course it's not comparable to 2020 as it was by far the best pool by far in Sens history but still pretty strong. Sogaard is a 6'7 athletic goalie who has already looked pretty good at the pro level. Thomson and JBD are pretty good D prospects, Ostapchuk is going to rise big time this season, Jarventie #10 just had a very strong WJC, Sokolov is #11 and has 75 pts in 99 AHL games, with a NHL shot and very good overall skill. Lodin just came to NA with 5 goals in his first 10 AHL games. Crookshank was injured last season but had 16 pts in his first 19 AHL games. Kastelic and Kelly are guaranteed NHLers. Etc, Etc, Etc

But anyway, I knew the pool would be massively underrated from an outside POV because of that stupid 2021 draft. However, Ostapchuk is the first one to emerge and will be an excellent prospect
