Again decent game last night by Raty (1+3) in WJC starter. Nothing unexpected, he hasn't had a bad game in year (in any level).. So, my vote again for him. :)

Just read from newspaper some comments from his Liiga coach (Olli Jokinen, 1200+ games NHLer). Couple of things he said:
Raty's defensive game is very mature for his age. Jokinen continued to say that this should help him get a spot in 3rd or 4th line for NYI already for coming season. (Personally I think NYI has too many F's, so that might be a difficult challenge).
He said that, having seen him play for whole season, it is easy to see why Raty was in consideration for 1OA a few years ago.

CHL and WHL MVP Logan Stankoven

Man tho would've been so nice if the Stars took Stankoven and then Räty with back to back picks...but nope had to go with the bottom pairing defensive dman safe pick in Grushnikov instead. Johnston, Stankoven, and Räty would've been an incredible haul

Nobody would pick Guhle or Stankoven over Mintyukov except filthy homers and people who dont know better.

Stankoven? Come on now...

I don't know, some scouts weren't so fond of him. I personally have Mintyukov top 5 in this draft so I do think he's being slept on.

Faber, Bordeleau, Morrow, Turcotte, Samoskevich, Moore, Brisson, Farrell, Helleson, Harris, Brink, Lucius, Howard, Laferriere, McGroarty, Blake, Ceulemans, Doan, Jones, Thrun, Bernard-Docker, Campbell, Savoie, Devine, Johnson, Ufko, Behrens, Colangelo, Slaggert, Mazur, Broz, Richard, Lohrei, Hreshchuk, Benning, Kaiser, Truscott, Blankenburg, Fensore, Kleven, Edwards

Of the options given, there are:

2 Former NCAA players (Holloway, Pinto)
1 Current NCAA player (Coronato)
0 USHL players (no USNTDP players either)

One-quarter of NHL comes from USHL. More players have been drafted out of USHL than any other junior league for six straight drafts. And over one-third of NHL comes from NCAA.

C'mon....

You mean the CHL player of the year who also had great playoff? Not saying you're wrong but don't make it seem like Mintyukov was a top 5 pick vs some scrub.

I'll be rotating some in, but I guarantee they won't be getting many votes at this point.

Stankoven is great but is 5'8 and was a 2nd rounder a year ago.

You dont usually go from 47th in your d year to 28th overall a year later.

And his D+1 was one of the best amongst all 2021 picks. Do a redraft in hindsight, and he definitely goes top 20.

Agreed with the size, though. I would want to see what him and Zellweger can do in the Ahl before declaring them as sure fire NHLers.

I had Mintyukov behind nemec and jiricek…. Thought he could go as high as 6

How do Ducks fans compare Zellweger and Mintyukov? I obviously think highly of Mintyukov but I don't know Zellweger's game well enough to make a comparison.

Pretty well known that the 2021 draft was a mess because of covid. Hence why so many guys drafted in the 20s and 2nd round would go top 15-20 now in a redraft. It was pretty stacked honestly.

Stankoven is a Gaudreau/DeBrincat hybrid and he's a little tank, I'm not worried about his size at all. He's physically more ready than some of these other guys

I got minty over zellweger. I think minty ceiling is higher, he could potentially become a top pairing guy, where I think zellweger prob tops out as a #3/4 guy

Funny enough, despite being a year apart in draft years, they are only 2 months apart in age.

Not a Dallas fan, but of the remaining players here Bourque has proven the most in eye test and stats.

Disclaimer, I'm not as much of a fan of Berggren, Pelletier and Pinto than him.

I don't mean to call you both out, but I noticed each of you saying Mintyukov is better than a lot of the other prospects being voted on, including Zellweger, yet both of you voted for Zellweger instead of Mintyukov. Why?

To be completely honest i didnt even notice Mintyukov was a voting option yet.... thought he was still the add list

Same I didn't even see him listed in the previous ones & of course there's no change vote option.
