Mintyukov intrigues me.... 62P in 67GP as a 17/18 year old Dman in the OHL, lead Saginaw in scoring

hard to say if Zellweger and Stankoven's small stature will translate well to NHL... need to see them play pro

IMO Bourque is as good or better than his future teammate Johnston yet he went 11 players ago and it seems no one thinks Bourque is good in this spot. So weird. I think looking back at this poll in 10 years that will be the biggest WTF

The guy who should’ve gone at #11, Frank Nazar

Took Jonathan Lekkerimaki as a bit of a homer pick and my second add chosen by the Sabers might actually turen out with the higher upside if he gets there.

To add:
Kevin Korchinski - D
Liam Ohgren - LW

Same list I had last couple of times. But still none are options.

Kirill Marchenko
Brock Faber
Thomas Bordeleau
Justin Barron
Scott Morrow
Alex Turcotte

So I guess Knies again

(and we are woefully underrating NCAA prospects here)

Pelletier is still here? A PPG player in the AHL as a 20 year old?

Jonatan Berggren had a similar points/game in the AHL, and is only 8 months older than Pelletier. I'm not arguing Berggren is the better prospect, because he isn't, but if you are considering Pelletier at this point because of what he did as a young kid in the AHL, Berggren should also be on your radar.

Yet, Berggren probably won't even crack the top 50 because HFboards hates the Red Wings.

No they don’t. HF overrates Seider.

Breggren isn’t a bad prospect. He should be in this list soon if not already. Pelletier is a better goal scorer than Breggren. I figured a good AHL goal scorer would get more love here.

I'm actually pretty surprised how far Olen Zellweger is falling. We have Brandt Clarke at #19 (I even like him higher, personally) and Zellweger is still not on the board and still won't be for 1-2 more picks. I mean I like Frank Nazar, but Zellweger just had a pretty unreal season and beat Clarke out of his own role on Team Canada... while Nazar was taken 13th overall just a few months ago. Is recency bias not a little bit too strong right now in this poll?

I won't pretend I'm an expert, but would love some explanation here!

I‘d like to see Ivan miroshinchenko added. If it weren’t for his diagnosis he would have been a top-10 pick.
He is still one of the highest upside players in the world.

He's gonna be the best Dman in the WJC the next two weeks and then it will look even more foolish.

Half the players we voted in are from Zellwegger's draft. We might be sleeping on him, I don't know, but it's not because of recency bias.

Because the league is flooding with high potential guys for the next generation as training techniques, development strategy, nutrition all become more mature. It's been raising pretty exponentially year over year. I think it just says more about the state of development overall than him. People aren't sure yet if he's translatable until he can prove it.
