McAvoy is better at zone denial, one on one D, zone exits and puck retrieval. Which is a lot. But man Fox has such great vision in the offensive zone, especially on back door plays. Leads to a lot more points. He is much better than McAvoy at that skill than McAvoy is better at those other skills…but McAvoy is better at a lot of things.

All I know is Team USA is in a good spot for a long time.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen Fox get beat 1 on 1 unless a player just straight up blows by him with speed. I’ve seen McAvoy get walked pretty badly a few times, half the time he ends up pushing that player into his own goalie. McAvoy’s skating allows him to keep up with speedsters but for purely stick work defensively give me Fox.

McAvoy is better at zone exits and physicality, especially clearing the net. Fox’s skating limits him at times, he almost never carry’s the puck out of the zone but at the same time he doesn’t make turnovers either. He’ll pass it off to Lindgren or a forward to skate it out. Fox is also much smarter defensively than McAvoy

Fox deserves to go in the 4-7 range but the lead he has on McAvoy is outrageously large.
