I'd say the odds of Beaucage being in the system beyond this season are very small whereas most of this group (sans Miner) will still be on the reserve list pending a trade.

I mean… 1 year vs multiple. This contract distinction is weird, especially as the Avs have signed a lot of guys that had no business getting a contract. Including Beaucage and Miner.

You have to sign a contract to matter, that’s the first step. Staying on the reserve list because you are a 25 year old NCAA player or a Russian doesn’t mean much. I mean they are all bums at this point but with very few signings it’s pretty obvious glass ceiling.

Because a player signs a contract, doesn’t mean they have any skill to be a NHL player. Agree they are all bums here, but by your logic, Ritchie and Goulash shouldn’t be ranked highly.
