Here it is! How did my first draft go?
I wanted to build a team that counters panda, so I went more defensive heavy.
Not sure if it worked..
Go easy on me everybody!
Thank you:cheer:

That defense is silly.
Well done baby

Thoughts?
Pretty solid. Not big on that 2nd line mostly because of Galchenyuk. Feel like Hischier-Eberle would need a different type of player. Also not big on Kuraly as 3LW instead of 4C.

One of the strongest forward groups, but I don't really like the defense. Helle helps that a fair bit.

I think I did well for my defense considering I didnt pick one until round 4. I see Morrissey as a low end #1 dman, with Risto and Sanheim being solid for my 2nd and 3rd defensemen. I think Sanheim and Risto would be a stud second pairing. Then Hamonic isn't a top pairing dman, more of a #3, but I think he suits Morrissey very well as a partner, and the lack of star power in my top pairing is made up by my second pairing. Plus having Hellebuyck definitely would close any defensive gaps with his stellar goaltending.

If Hamonic is a #3 than so is Matt Benning.

He isn't good.

I think he is a #3 dman. I would be hard-pressed to name 90 defencemen I like more than Hamonic. I know he is a player that gets some stick, but he is good defensively. He had a good year last year, and this year Calgary was worse as a whole, but Hamonic was still decent when he played

Ilya Kovalchuk ($0.700M) - Leon Draisaitl ($8.500M) - Denis Gurianov ($0.895M)
Kyle Connor ($7.143M) - Dylan Strome ($0.864M) - Mats Zuccarello ($6.000M)
Bobby Ryan ($7.250M) - Derek Stepan ($6.500M) - Alex Chiasson ($2.150M)
Emil Bemstrom ($0.925M) - Derek Grant ($0.700M) - Joey Anderson ($0.925M)

Ryan Graves ($0.735M) - Brent Burns ($8.000M)
Sam Girard ($0.729M) - Stephen Johns ($2.350M)
Carl Gunnarsson ($1.750M) - Nick Jensen ($2.500M)

Jacob Markstrom ($3.667M)
Cam Talbot ($2.750M)

Salary Cap - $70.000M
Cap Spent - $65.033M
Cap Space - $4.967M

This is probably my favorite team I've drafted thus far. I feel like every player is strong relative to others in their position and it's not lacking too much.

I'd prefer a strong 2C than Strome, but he's certainly fine there. I have a trade left so maybe I can swing an upgrade, we'll see.

Small suggestion, but Grant should definitely be the 4C over Bemstrom. Played a lot more center in the NHL (don't even think Bemstrom has)

Solid team. That defense is excellent and goaltending is as well of course. Would be tough to score on, then you have Drai/Connor up front. Although the top line looks like it could be a bit of a mess defensively at times.

Good call with Grant/Bemstrom, made that switch although its minor.

The top line is one where I think they may have a big gaffe every so often, but they're probably going to score a lot more than that happens. I wouldn't put them out there to defend

LA Kings are complete. Moved my lines around but I'm open to critiques and suggestions

Overall pretty happy, hard to achieve this level of depth in these

Thanks to @LatvianTwist for running this one!

I don’t think that team would be able to score with my defensive forwards shutting them down. Plus Drai is nothing without McDavid obvs

It's an interesting matchup. You win the forwards quite easily I would say, but defense and goaltending go to Latvian for sure. So it comes down to what the voters look for in a team.
