Some whackjob had an idea so here we go.

When does this all start? May 1? Maybe we can start the non-playoff teams right after the draft lottery?

1. Teams will be selected on a first come, first served basis - and I won't take the Flames so someone else has a shot at them. So when you're posting "hey I want the Flames" in the 2nd/3rd/4th post, please also indicate a second choice. I'm taking Buffalo, BTW.

2a. Order for lottery teams will be set at the conclusion of the draft lottery (April 15). Fun fact - if the Devils win the lottery, they re-draw.
2b. Order for the non-lottery teams will be set at the end of each playoff round, or when I figure out how the playoffs affect draft format, whatever comes first.

3. I have a feeling that someone may have to run more than one team. That's cool. If someone wants to run a team by committee, that's fine too.

4. No trading picks, it takes too damn long.

5. Would prefer participants to be regular-ish in the Flames forum, but as the draft nears and we're desperate to fill teams, I will be a hell of a lot less choosy.

6. Once you're on the clock, you have until we become annoyed with you to make your pick, or a day, whatever comes first. I'd like to finish this before the actual draft starts.

7. Game Thingy? That's right, I'm going to award points based on this versus the actual draft results - where a player is actually taken vs. where he's taken in the mock draft. Take a player in the mock draft where he's actually drafted? Major bonus points. The points will be made up and the winner will be determined by a Council of Learned Elders. The prize is bragging rights; but be forewarned, if you brag you may be mocked.

8. Oh and on the topic of points, providing reasonable justification for making a pick (other than "he's big hurr durr") will factor into being awarded points - stuff like team needs would be relevant. Even "he's big" works if there's a lack of big guys in the system...
