Mr. Czechia has retired! It's been on hell of a career for Michal. I really enjoyed Michal mainly because I'm a huge leafs fan, so whenever a guy gets drafted to the Leafs I pay a little more attention. Also my goalie was there. Right from the beginning there was a lot of signs that Michal would be special but he was a little bit behind both his brothers. It took him longer to get up to Sparta Praha in the ESL. But when he did he really showed why he should have been up there for longer. He had 21 points in 20 games and that was all the Leafs needed to see to be convinced that he was the right fit for them. Now lets be honest, the Leafs are stacked on the right side, so when he came over he had some growing pains. But once Nylander moved on to another team, Michal really elevated his offensive game. He, Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner were a dominant trio that went on two Stanley Cup finals and falling just short both times. Machajek is an extremely talented offensive player. Based on his career stats he can be viewed as a dynamic playmaking winger, but his goal scoring ability is so underrated. He had 706 goals while also putting up 1026 points. We are looking at one of the best all around offensive players of this generation. He was spectacular and had five 100 point seasons. I really think the only thing he would change is maybe having better luck and winning one of the Stanley Cups. Its a shame he wasn't considered for more individual awards as he had amazing seasons, but never the less this is still a great career for Michal!

The journeyman defenseman has finally decided to ride off into the sunset. Big Foot is extinct. What a career it's been for the Canadian born-Thai athlete. Despite being boring in Canada, Big Foot decided to opt for the Asia development route. The reasoning being that he would get far greater playing time in the ASL as a young athlete, than he would anywhere else. I think this start really prepared Foot for the type of career he was going to have. Foot is a physical offensive dman, who has a lot to offer a team. He is the type of defenseman your team needs in order to be successful long term and throughout the playoffs. His first year in the ASL, Kunlan did not play him at all, he only practiced. His second and third years he was very good! He had some good offensive output, but I think scouts were a bit underwhelmed with his numbers. I think that is why he ended up falling a bit in the draft. Little did he know that falling in the draft would land him in the perfect spot. EDMONTON, ALBERTA Y'ALL. I think it was a struggle for Foot at first, he wasn't playing a whole lot of minutes or getting offensive opportunities but he was very instrumental in their Stanley Cup wins as a strong 2nd pairing guy. As badly as he wanted more playing time, I doubt he'd trade those rings for more PT. Where Foot really broke out as a star, stud is when he went to Washington, they allowed him to play his game and gave him more offensive opportunities. Funny enough his career high is 69 points, just like his jersey number. Foot became a steady 40/50 point defenseman following his move to Washington. Despite not being a stud filling up the score sheet, he proved that if you are reliable you can have a very successful career! He was inducted to the Hall of Fame! Congrats on a great career.

This was one of the more interesting prospects to follow. Not only did he come from a very unique country but he had a very unique skillset. I think coming out of the junior ranks he was pegged to be more of a fighter, fourth line type of guy. There wasn't a whole lot of offensive upside, but he was a defensive energy guy who could kill penalties. I think after Arizona drafted him, they were hoping that he would find some of his offensive game in the KHL before coming over. He had a career high of 12 points with Salavat Yulaev Ufa, before signing his ELC. His first year with the Coyotes he was a fan favourite, he spent most of his time on the 2nd and 3rd line and was let loose as a fighter. He had 9 fights that year. The following year, the Coyotes moved on from some players and his offensive production spiked. He had 62 points and he really didn't look back after. He stopped dropping the gloves and put his hands to better use by using them to score. He was also able to help the Coyotes lift its first Stanley Cup in its history in 2030. It was really nice to see the transition in his play. To see how he could pick up his game as a playmaker and become a key part of the organization. It was also nice to see him take a leadership role with his country and try and support them any way he could in international tournaments. From a guy who was scoring 5 to 12 points in the KHL to finishing with 1,227 points, I don't think he could ask for anything different in his career! Loyal to Arizona to the end, he decided to go to the Island where a lot of Russian based prospects seem to end up!

Thanks for the write up! And for all the work going into these - it's super impressive and I'm excited for V19!

I can't get over the fact that it took Big Foot around 10 seasons to break the 30 pts mark, and then he had 10 more seasons > 40 pts in him

1920 NHL games... it has to be a record no? :eek3:

We are looking at one of the most quietly dominant superstars I've ever seen created. Miyazaki was a complete force out there. The St. Louis Blues did a fantastic job developing him as well and gradually letting him blossom into one of the most consistent two-way center in the NHL. Though being born in Japan, Miyazaki elected to go the US High School/College route. It seemed to work out well for him. From an early age he showed that he was a dynamic forward who can pass and shoot with the best of them and is versatile in being able to play all three of the forward positions. Growing up in the Boston area it was a no brainer for him to sign with BU and have an outstanding year. After one year the Blues felt he was good enough to make their roster. It was a transition at first but he quickly started to get his bearings and once guys like Robert Thomas and Ryan O'Reilly had transitioned off the team, Miyazaki was ready to carry the load up front. He went crazy with a 94 point season in 2028/29. That helped to establish himself as a core player on the team and one of the best league wide. From there on he kept up his amazing play, helping the Blues to win a Stanley Cup, which would be one of his proudest moments. He and the Blues were always in contention and that had a lot to do with the offense Miyazaki was driving. He is just as effective a scorer as he is a playmaker. He's won every major award outside of the Selke. In 2046, when the Blues elected not to resign Miyazaki, he decided to go to Toronto. He helped get them to First in the Eastern Conference but just couldn't help them get over the hump in the playoffs. Because he was so busy in the playoffs he didn't get to represent Japan that often. But when he did he made sure to give it his all! Congrats on a great career.

last season sim coming up, all remaining players are set to retire at the end of the season as indicated by their player profile in game!

Free Ukraine is finally free! We say good bye to one of the superstars with the most unique names. Ukraine had a pretty good career, he was one of the premier playmakers in DnXL at an early age. He really struggled to find the back of the net early on, but his passing was excellent. He's a big body who's vision is kind of unmatched to anyone else. His combination of size, hands and vision made him a project center that could have a lot of potential. I think New Jersey was thinking he could fit right into their system and be something they didn't have early on. It took Ukraine quite a bit of time to find his footing. New Jersey just wasn't the right fit for him. However once he signed in Chicago and got first line minutes, we saw the Ukraine we were all waiting for. An elite, highly effective and motivated forward who could score and create offense! It was nice to see him have more success towards the end of his career. He isn't a guy who won many awards but he was able to win a Stanley Cup late in his career with the Vegas Golden Knights, to cap off a great run. We also can't forget how much of a leader he has been with the Ukrainian National Team. Every time he represented Ukraine, they found ways to win with him! Congrats on your career.

C.J. is a prime example of a player cannot be judged by the amount of points that they put up! He's had a hell of career and the longevity has been so impressive. Looking at Szydlowski's career it's evident that he is the type of defenseman that teams love to hold on to. He's a defensive dman at his finest and provides something different that a lot of players can't provide them! Szydlowski was a standout at Minnesota-Duluth. He won the Hobey Baker Award twice! He was a stud on the back end and pretty much hit everything in sight. He also was great at shot blocking. His offensive production was lacking a lot, and that may have affected his draft stock. But I think Carolina saw true value in the toughness and grit that he brought. So did all the other teams he played for. Over his NHL career he had 3,045 hits, 598 take aways and 4,209 blocked shots. He also had 19 career fights and won 17 of them. 3 of those fights came in his final season! This is your prototypical shut down defenseman who can play on your penalty kill and suck up a bunch of ice time. It was cool to track and see how he kept finding ways to stay in the league. Szydlowski also had an outstanding career with USA Hockey. He was a key cog in many of their World Championships and Olympic cycles. C.J. may not have made a lot of money, won a whole heck of a lot of cups, but he was a very effective athlete who made a way in the NHL.

with a career point per game of 0.26 C.J. would be the 2nd lowest PPG of any player to play at least 1400 games (behind Luke Richardson) and by far the lowest of anyone to play at least 1500. His goal total is far below any of the IRL players to make it to 1700 games with the lowest of those being Joe Thornton with 430, and a decent bit under other superstars from this time around like Big Foot (with 183) and Gunnar Gibbs (with 223).

C.J. was a fun player to keep track of despite his low scoring and I'm especially fond of his 2027-28 rookie season and 2031-32 season (both of which would be among the lowest scoring single seasons) and his 2042-43 season (which would be a record for most points in a season without recording a goal) and although he had a real lack of success in the playoffs overall I felt like he accomplished a great amount over his NHL career.

thank you for running these and for the excellent career recap! I'm plenty excited for the next one!

Seeing your guy's career makes me curious for building an elite "grinder". I always see the "Grinder" player type when playing the game but they obviously don't usually develop well/stick around

yeah, I'm not sure if there'd be any players to really model a grinder off of though. maybe Casey Cizikas?

with all the PA the superstars get I feel like any grinder with a bit of offense would end up just becoming like a 60 point guy who hits and takes penalties and that doesn't feel very grinder to me kinda like a powerforward lite, but I guess that's up to whoever to decide for themselves.

with all the PA the superstars get I feel like any grinder with a bit of offense would end up just becoming like a 60 point guy who hits and takes penalties and that doesn't feel very grinder to me kinda like a powerforward lite, but I guess that's up to whoever to decide for themselves.

yeah, you'd have to put all the points in defensive categories I think. Either way the game classifies them as "franchise forward" at one point, but that'd be the most accurate way I guess?

As far as modeling after... Yeah I'm really not sure who could fit in the starting DB

You're right with the PA, on the other side I would say that Francis would agree if you wanted to put in more mediocre and less excelent stats in order to create a Grinder. It would mean a worse overall player, but you could form him more accurately, prevent the offensive parts etc. :)

Yeah that's kind of what I tried to create with my player Charyev. His initial seasons he was definitely a grinder but he basically just transitioned to a power forward who got 60-80 points a season and hit a ton due to his potential ability

The final Machajek brother has decided to call it a career! What a one it has been. Tomas is a premier playmaker and showed the most promise put of the three triplets earlier on. It was always apparent that Tomas would be able to find guys open. When called up to Sparta Praha he was a main fixture in their line up and was very good. So good that it helped him go first overall. I think Seattle was feeling like they got their franchise center all locked up. It took some growing pains for Tomas to come into his complete self. Realistically, some of Tomas' best years were early on in his career where he scored 91 points in back to back seasons with the Seattle Kraken. I think in a redo, Seattle wouldn't have traded Machajek to Chicago. It was also interesting to track that Machajek's game declined right after that trade and it picked back up in the second half of his Carolina stint. Ultimately, you were going to get some goals with Tomas, but he was really going to excel at passing the puck. Tomas Machajek might also be one of the most decorated international superstars we've ever seen. He was a big part of Team Czechia's success and I think he's going to go down as the greatest Czechia player in history. Additionally, Machajek just never misses games! He is so reliable and always willing to lay his body down for the betterment of the team. I think he's had a great career! Congrats on the career.
