Could this be a Sacco-inspired thing or is this just pasta flung against the wall and hoping it sticks?

Was thinking about Hejduk the other day when the Colorado report came out. The only thing is that we have 0 Czechs now and why would he sign here besides the money factor. I would personally like a Jagr or Hejduk so that if Vanek is dealt, we have a more accomplished veteran to mentor the guys. Both of these guys have had success. We lack leadership still and have 0 cup winners.

Could either of them really fill Gerbe's shoes though?

My 5 year old daughter could fill Gerbe's shoes. Sorry, had to.

I wouldn't be upset with signing a veteran like Hejduk. He has a lot he could teach this team about winning. As for Jagr, why would he sign in Buffalo really? To say he's played for every team? Again, I don't have a problem with it, but highly doubt he wouldn't want to go to a more competitive team, especially after the season he had at age 41.

I don't know... Hejduk was part of the vet group in Colorado. Not keen on what Giguere popped off about to the press at the end of the year.

I wouldn't exactly categorize Dater as a "non-hack".

Ask Avs fans how reliable he is..

The same Dater who said that Ryan O'Reilly would be physically escorted out of the Avalance locker room by his "ex"-teammates before they ever welcomed him back in?

I'd assume that was a joke given the nature of his published articles toward that matter.

My feeling is the players probably will forget about the contract stuff before long and won’t hold it against him much. They know it’s a business, and some know that O’Reilly’s contract probably will help get them a raise in a year or two. And we know O’Reilly is going to come here and work as hard or harder than ever to prove he’s worth the contract. So, I think his teammates will move on from the situation soon.

Nope he wrote an article before all of that where he said the Avs, his teammates and RoR himself had all moved on and there was a falling out because Landeskog was given captaincy.

If this is what you're referring to it doesn't really have that tenor.

Jagr's such a merc, and you've gotta think the guy wants to go to a contender.

I wouldn't mind if it happened, just seems like an odd match.

I am so confident and certain when I say that we will be acquiring neither Hejduk nor Jagr this offseason (or ever).

Don't deviate.
