Martin Frk has the hardest shot ever recorded at 109.2 at the AHL Skills Competition.



You can see it was a while ago as Hudon was representing Laval.

Irregardless of that, Xhekaj is still up there with Frk, Weber & Chara.

Xhekaj is already on the second PP unit. Only problem is Gallagher is no longer that net front presence.

Took the kids to this event, they loved it. Yeah kids are easy to impress

The only things I look at usually are the faster skater and the hardest shot as they are the only 2 that seem to by somewhat taken seriously by the players themselves

Disappointed Matheson and Anderson didn't participate in the faster skater, Newhook won it easily despite a helmet malfunction, but only one second less than Wawa
Wawa was out skated by a couple girls from Montreal feminine team tho

Highlight was obviously Xhekaj shot, gallagher surprisingly shot harder than kovacevic, Guhle and Matheson got something like 97mph and 98mph. Xhekaj shot his first at 105mph and got the loudest reaction from the crowd the whole day, but his second registered a whopping 107.2 mph wow, everybody stood up lol

Plus, there’s an anecdotal angle to it as we’ve seen him not pass to Slaf on the PP on several occasions while the latter was either open or in a better position to take a shot. It makes for an easy meme.
