France with their best teams since a long time, not an opponent you can just run over. But they will probably concentrate on the important games (KAZ, SVK, BLR, SWI) so won't put everything into this game.

They almost beat us last year, but our roster is slightly better this year, so I'm going to say USA 4-2.

First game for USA, doesnt look( atleast on paper) as if they will have a strong team this year anyway - this is as good of a chance for an early upset as there will be. My prediction 3:2 for France

I don't think the roster is that bad. Legit #1 NHL goalie in Howard, a very mobile and offensively gifted defense, and a decent top six forward group with some solid role players. I'm not predicating gold, but I definately think this team will handle the lesser lights and give the more named teams a run for their money.

Agreed. I think the forward group is better than the last US WC entry. That top line should be dangerous regardless of matchup.

The US is good enough get a medal, IF all players is willing work for it 100%.

If Howard plays like he did before his injury, the US have a good chance to do some damage to other top nations.

First game, I have my alarm clock set to go off in 11am. Then USA - France, to work 4pm - 8am where I watch at least Finland - Belarus and NHL game at night.

Great day for hockey tomorrow.
