The family of Gordie Howe is teaming up with ProMedica to launch a human stem cell trial for traumatic brain injuries, as reported by nbc24.com.
The announcement was made Wednesday in Toledo, Ohio where the initiative was launched with Murray Howe, MD, and Joseph Maroon, the team neurosurgeon for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Gordie Howe Initiative will be a three-year effort that focuses on research, treatment and awareness of TBI.
