A perfect game IMHO. We lose in reg, Silovs plays a .941 game, the other goalie scores a goal (always cool IMHO) and Marchand scores to re-open all those wounds from 2011 that torture so many souls out there who insist that WE actually won that Cup and the refs blah blah blah. Also, everybody better sit down... Myers was one of only 2 Canucks to be a + despite playing almost half an hour. If only we could get him to do that every night...
The reffing in that series was objectively bad. Go back and watch if you must. No one ever said that Vancouver actually won the cup what are you talking about?
Your other points were valid.

Silovs is a great gem. We have a 21 year old goalie already capable of playing in the AHL/NHL competently.
Kid looks solid for sure. Great player to have considering Demko's injury history at this point. Should be backing him up without a doubt next season.

Someone mentioned Quinn Hughes face being a death stare after the goal? Anyone have a screen cap if true? I can't find it

Weird post bud, but I agree on Myers.

Enjoyed the game and like some positive developments

Silovs showing he has a future in the NHL after a shaky first game. This will be huge for his confidence going forward

Burroughs Brisebois and Wolanin did a great job considering they were down to 5 D and it was the Bruins. Wolanin looks legit which is what i had said when we got him that if he could get healthy he might be a huge sleeper. Too bad he had to basically win the AHL scoring race to finally get a look but i hope they can bring him back. Wouldnt mind as a 7/8 or at least in a training camp battle with Stillman for that last spot. Brisebois is a smart player that skates well and has good defensive fundamentals. Burroughs played pretty good considering the minutes but does look in over his head too often this year

Top line was buzzing. Too bad Pettersson missed that cross over play with Kuz that would have lit the building on fire. Beauvillier was flying and providing good support

Miller diidnt play much. i wonder if he got banged up. Boeser is such a slug. He strangely stops when he gets close to the play. Is he avoiding contact or just trying not to get burned by committing IDK but he plays in no mans land far too often. Glad he scored. Garland was ok but gets washed out against better teams nice set up and he almost always tries hard

Amen line was really effective tonight. Like the size and speed of that trio. They get sticks in lanes get in hard and can take pucks to the hard areas. Hard to believe Amen is only 22. Good pick up as he has some growth in that frame and plays such a good positional game

Dries Pod Raty didnt do much. Pod had lots of jump but needs to find a way to get shots off and not get stuck in the muck. Made a few really nice assertive plays but is playing with 2 guys out of their depth at the moment. Making steps but man 1 goal after 26 games ouch. We need him to be a core player and it's not trending that way unfortunately.

Hughes was a treat and is flying right now. He's also defending really well and creating turnovers. Him and Pettersson are worth the price of admission

Myers had mostly effective minutes and then would do what he does which is break down make bonehead decisions. Hopefully if he has to stay he gets platooned on a 3rd pair with a guy like Livingstone until we can flush him out or bury him in the press box.

What fresh and encouraging opinions you have. When I think about it, you and Imac really have a great deal in common. I've actually never seen anyone say the Canucks won the cup anywhere before. It's that creative perspective that everyone else seems to lack. Kudos

People mad at Boeser for tipping the puck too close to the goalie when he was the only reason they were within reach of another last-minute miracle tying goal. It wasn't going to happen 3 games in a row.

Be mad that the team blew it again in the first 3 months and still isn't even close to being a playoff contender.

The apologists always need a whipping boy to blame.

Boeser, Martin, Delia. Who will be the next "only" reason why the Canucks aren't competing for a Stanley Cup?

Botchford was passionate but fair... he was usually right in his takes anyway. The Jim Benning era was truly one of the worst eras ever. He was going against the grain while everyone was still deluded from the shiny toys in Petey and Hughes. He had every right to be as pissed off as he was.

Drance is just an echo chamber of eternal pessimism. The way he talks about the Canucks and sports in general... I'm not sure this guy's ever played any sort of organized sports in his life. Him constantly rambling on the radio about how "JT MILLER CANT PLAY CENTRE" and "KUZMENKO NEEDS TO BE TRADED AT PEAK VALUE" is honestly so tiring.

Drance is willing to go negative which separates him from most of the media here (or at least he’s willing to go negative now after being quiet as a church mouse for the whole Benning tenure) but every time he posts a hockey opinion he exposes the fact he doesn’t understand hockey.

And now he’s just locked in a negative feedback loop.

Thought Boston played poorly and were lucky to win. Good effort by Vancouver - really all hands on deck in this one and really a half assed effort by the Bruins. They'll be out quick if they play like this. Ullman had to be very good.

Good

AHL defensemen - all of Burroughs, Brisebois and Wolanin were moving well and playing off the front foot. Have to ask - Is Brisebois as good as OEL??? Probably not but he isn't far off if he played every game like this one.

Hughes - best player on the ice and it wasn't close.

Silovs - looking more comfortable and composed. Defense did a good job of letting him see the shots but the way he stopped any rebounds was crucial. Looks more and more like a consideration for next season.

Aman - to me, he summed up the commitment and tenacity of the bottom liners. Lots of good efforts there. Really a matter of what works best together moving into the future.

Podkolzin - beginning to look a little like the player we saw at the end of last year.

Garland - continues to push the play. Big heart - think this player would help teams in the playoffs. Underrated.

Kuzmenko - getting ever smarter with the puck. In time him and Pettersson should be deadly. Beauvillier wasn't bad but I wonder if he is the third member on this line.

Others

Raty - does need a step if he is going to be anything offensively. Like the way he scans the play while in motion although right now he is guessing too much as he tries to anticipate the play. Going to have to be patient here.

Myers - after a dreadful performance in Nashville has been better the last two games.

Boeser - gave it a go and good touch on his goal but lacks the wheels and balance to do much.

As some have said perfect tank loss. See some future but lose. Just hope this type of effort doesn't translate into wins.

With his lack of pro experience, I think it might still be best to have him be the full time starter in the AHL again, and have a vet backup with the big club so he’s not sitting too much. He can always be called up to play more regularly if Demko gets hurt.

Overall the team played decently against an elite team especially after being down to 5D from 30 seconds in.

What a kick in the teeth to have Boston’s goalie score in our arena.

- Silovs’ best game yet. Looking more controlled and confident and was sharp all night. Don’t know what the future holds but this recall has been a major positive for him.

- Wolanin and Brisebois both very good again. Incredible how the top 2 AHL D can look better than Myers/OEL. Wolanin’s zone exits and puck movement look legitimately above average relative to good NHL competition. Might have found a gem here whose career was previously delayed by major shoulder problems.

- hope Bear is OK. That looked bad.

- Hughes has been exceptional and played maybe the best hockey of his career since Tocchet’s arrival and continued that tonight.

- Raty is just not ready. Can’t really say much more than that.

- Aman-Studnicka line had a good night. Studnicka skated better against his former team and Aman had maybe his best game since his recall.

- Boeser was rancid all night but managed to be right place/right time for a goal. Can’t wait til he’s gone.

- top line was the best line again although found things more difficult against Boston’s D.

Down the stretch here some players are staking claims for jobs for next year and it’s crystallizing how badly the OEL/Myers/Boeser group needs to be fired out of a cannon.

Norm Ullman? How did the Bruins pull that off? Talk about depth heading into the playoffs!

We need the team to be embarrassed more, and more, and more, and more, and more.

We need to squash this...PATHETIC false hope that the team will go somewhere. Without titanic changes, this team has no chance to become anything other than THE joke team of NHL.

But hey, at least we know that coaches coach, players play, and managers manage!

Thanks for clearing the air Mr. Fredolini!
