Been a tough schedule after the break. In Car, then go to Boston, then an early game in Detroit, play the next night afternoon in Wash, then to Chicago, then home to Det, host Win, then off again for an early game vs Minn, next day in Col, and now to Sea, before they come home to Bos, then finally their first 2 day break since the AS Break.

But then ... only 2 games in a week, then a 3 game road road trip west coast, then the next 24 day, only 10 games, all at home.

about the easiest schedule they have ever had ... not that that really makes up for the rest of the shit show.

Yep, they just need to get through these next 2 games vs Sea and Bos and snap this losing skid.

Then, they can have a reset. I mean, how many full practices have they had since the break? They took the day off between Car and Bos. Maybe the day between the home games vs Det and Win?

It's been a brutal schedule for sure, we've taken some lumps along the way and are finally battling through a few injuries as well. We were due for a bump in the road and overall I'm really pleased with how we've played.

Of course our PP has been an issue, and needs to be fixed, but our 5 on 5 play is amongst the best in the league and our PK has been stellar for the last couple of months too.

I feel good about our team overall because of those two things alone. Especially because in the playoffs, 5 on 5 play and killing off penalties becomes even more important.

If you play your game on the edge and try to break down the other team in a series, you'll naturally take penalties but if you can weather the storm, the other team usually breaks down over 7 games.

A lot of teams that go deep in the playoffs tend to be extremely strong in 5 on 5 play + PK, I think a strong PP is needed, but secondary to the other things and we'll get the PP sorted out soon enough with some proper practice time.

I think it's good that we're facing adversity now, there are a lot of good lessons we can take away from these last few weeks that will set us up nicely for the post season.

If anybody had told me at the start of the season, that the Canucks' first three-game losing streak wouldn't occur until late February, you'd have dismissed them as one of lunatic fringe.

But here we are......and this slide has as much or more to do with the schedule, than it does the team's performance on the ice. They out-shot, out-chanced and frankly were better five-on-five than the Jets, Wild and Av's, but lost all three of them in the third periods.

They just need some rest, injury recovery and some practice time, ant they'll be OK. Unfortunately they have another tough match-up against the Kraken tomorrow night, who are desperate to pick up points and close the wildcard gap.

These teams desperately need a playoff series so this can actually develop into a rivalry. The NHL's new regular season schedule/alignment has made is very difficult to create regular season rivalries with divisional opponents, you basically need a playoff series to develop one.
